Tractors Singapore Limited (TSL), authorized Cat® dealer for Singapore and Maldives, and Maldives Polytechnic has signed an agreement on 21 October 2019 to co-offer two internship certification programs for the students at Maldives Polytechnic.

Upon completion of the 15-week course, students will receive a certificate jointly awarded by TSL and Maldives Polytechnic. Students also become a ready talent pool of technical experts for Cat equipment users in Maldives.

“We see that Maldives has a lot of promising development around the archipelago, so we felt the best way was to equip the local Maldivians with the right skills and knowledge so that they can continue to build their society with the best equipment in the world,” said Mr. Alan Ow. “This is one of the many ways we will give back to the Maldivian society.”

Depending on the Advanced Certificate program they are currently enrolled at Maldives Polytechnic, students will be part of either the Heavy Machine track or the Engine (Power System) track. Over the course of 15-weeks, students will learn product knowledge and its application, as well as skills in diagnostics, maintenance and repairs of Cat machines or engines. Part of the program will also require students to work on Cat machines or engines at job sites around Maldives to ensure they have a holistic learning experience

Upon completion of the 15-week course, students will receive a certificate jointly awarded by TSL and Maldives Polytechnic. Students also become a ready talent pool of technical experts in Cat equipment, providing immediate technical assistance to the Cat equipment users in Maldives.

First runs of both tracks will commence in January 2020 in Maldives Polytechnic.
