Contractor impressed by the efficiency of the Goupil G3 Electric Utility, converts rental into a purchase
In preparation of the future Bird Park site when it eventually relocates from Jurong, the rental of the Goupil G3 electric utility vehicle turned into a purchase after only three months when the construction site switched hands as the project entered the next stage.
The contractor who took over the site determined it was more economical to own rather than rent, the Goupil G3.
He had already witnessed for himself how the previous contractor was able to effectively clean the road leading to the construction site, the same road that leads to the renowned tourist spot – the Singapore Zoological Gardens with minimum manpower requirement.
The French-made Goupil G3 electric utility vehicle’s configuration of a leaf collector, powered by a 2,000W motor with a turbine rotation speed of 3,000 rpm, effortlessly sucks up fallen leaves and other debris on the road, as well as from the ditches that run alongside.
The Goupil G3 takes 8 hours to charge fully (overnight charging) and provides the range to cover up to 100 km.
It well replaces a team of 4 human sweepers and shortens the cleaning of the entire stretch of Mandai Lake Road (which is required by NPB/NEA to be cleaned everyday) from 3 hours to under an hour.
